In-Transit PermitAn in-transit permit allows a person to move a vehicle or trailer that does not have a valid vehicle registration and licence plate. The in-transit permit can be used in the following situations:
When you’re moving the vehicle from one province to another, the starting point or ending point must be in Alberta.
In-Transit Permit are not valid outside of Canada How to get an In-transit PermitYou can request an in-transit permit online or or in person at our office. A verified Alberta.ca account is required for online requests.

A copy of the In-Transit Permit must be carried in the vehicle at all times during transportation. ** Digital Download ** Attention: Initial digital download of this product/service is only available between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. The cost for an in-transit permit is $24.00 When an unregistered vehicle or trailer is carrying a load, a load licensing permit is needed in addition to the in-transit permit. |
