General Information

Knowledge tests are conducted for:

• All driver's licence classes with the exception of class 5 
  • ​Class 1, 2, 3, 4 commercial license
  • Class 7 learner's license
  • Class 6 driver license
• The air brake endorsement
• The Safety Fitness Certificate (SFC) Compliance test

​No appointment is necessary to take the knowledge tests.  All knowledge tests are computer based.

General Rules and Guidelines

The following languages are available for the Class 7 Knowledge Test:

1. The cost to take a knowledge test is $17.00
2. The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions and you must score a minimum of 25 to pass
3. If you fail the test you must wait one day before taking the test again. You may take the test as many times as required to pass but only once per day
4. Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, air brake and SFC knowledge tests can only be taken in English
5. Once a knowledge test has been passed and the test permit is validated by a registry agent, the permit is only valid for 1 year from the date of the test
