Current Fines
You will need the following to pay the tickets at the registry office:
- A Part 3 Violation Ticket (yellow copy, current or overdue)(Note: If the ticket is overdue, any late payment charges are added to the original fine amount. If you do not pay the full overdue amount, your motor vehicle services will remain restricted)
- Alberta Driver License and/or Identification Card
Overdue Fines
If you have received a summons (ticket) for a moving (e.g. speeding) or non-moving (e.g. parking) offense, and you have not dealt with it by the due date on the summons, you may be convicted in absence.
The overdue fine will then be transferred to the Motor Vehicles database where a late penalty charge will be added. This outstanding fine must be paid before any motor vehicle service can be performed for you. Outstanding fines can be paid at any registry agent office or in person at the Traffic Court.
